Here are a few pictures of Isaac's Elmo party!!

I am going to have to figure out how to
post more pics at a time. I would have
posted more.

We had a party today!!

Isaac didn't throw up any yesterday and his fever went away. He acted really good and played hard last night so I went on with the party today.
Well, today he was very lethargic and just tired. I hope my baby boy gets over this soon. He is such a good boy, even when he feels badly. He did good and he got lots of presents. He wasn't very sociable, but he is in a stage right now where that is common. He didn't feel like digging into his cake. I was disappointed, but he just doesn't have his appetite back so of course he didn't want the cake. I will post some pics later tonight when I put him down for the night.
His birthday really isn't until Tuesday, but since we had his party today, I can't help but think about this time last year when he came into our lives. It was such a long journey and at his first birthday I have to thank the good Lord for giving him to us. My precious little miracle.

My Weekend is not going as planned. :-(

Very early Thursday morning I woke up to Isaac coughing at around 5am. He had slept all night and I was grateful. He went back to sleep so I stayed in the bed. 30 minutes later he coughed again, but never cried for me. I did decide to go check on him and he was curled up at the foot of his bed. The head of his bed is raised by two bricks to help with his reflux so I thought that was why he was coughing so I put him back up at the head of his bed. My alarm was set for 6:30 so I tried to go back to sleep. At 6:30 I got up to get my shower. Within the next hour I heard him cough a couple of more times, so I thought, "Great, he is getting sick for his birthday". Well, my parents were due to arrive at any minute so I decided to go in and check on him again. Again, he was curled up at the foot of his bed. Then, I heard it. He heaved and then coughed. WHAT!!!??? I hurried and turned the light on and there it was, vomit all over his crib!! What an awful Mom I felt. I had laid my baby boy back up in his mess. It was dark and I couldn't see it or smell anything. It was bile basically and there were stains all over his sheet. He just laid there and looked at me and didn't move. He felt bad. I felt horrible. I got him up and washed his face and changed his clothes. He felt bad. Mom and Dad arrived and I thought I was see if he could hold down some formula. I only fixed a three ounce bottle and Mom gave it to him while I cleaned up his crib. He was so tired. As she rocked him after his bottle, he threw up all over her. So I waited to leave for work and called the doctor. They wanted to see him. He has the awful bug going around. We got him some things at the grocery. I fed him four ounces of pedialyte and put him to bed. Then I left for work.
Chris called me throughout the day with great reports. He never got the diarrhea and he hadn't vomited all day....until around 8pm. He threw up all over his room. Chris did a terrific job cleaning it up even with Isaac trying to love on his Daddy and wanting his Daddy. I am sure it was stressful cleaning with a crying baby that wants to be right there with you. Chris was exhausted when I got home around 9:30pm. Isaac was exhausted too. He now had a fever that he didn't have at the doctor. I tried to give him three ounces of pedialyte and was successful and I put him to bed. I was so bummed that he got sick again and now he had a fever. His big Birthday party is Sunday. It is just for the immediate family and everyone works different shifts and that is the only day to do it. It is not looking good for the party.
So here I am Saturday morning and Isaac woke me crying a few times last night. At 3am I offered him four ounces of pedialyte and he took it, along with some motrin. He still had a fever, 100.6. I thought around 3:30am he was going to throw up. He was very uncomfortable. I took him into the bathroom and sat on the toilet and rocked him. He soothed down and I put him to bed. He slept solid from 4am to 8am.
Since he woke up, still with a fever, I gave him four more ounces of pedialyte and some tylenol. He wants me to hold him constantly. Please tell me that he can feel better so we can still have his party tomorrow. I am just so bummed.....

I just have a hard time finding time to post....

let alone learn how to do all the little neat "extra" things. I don't know how some of you do it!! Right now, my little man is at the stage where he has to be with Momma 24/7. I am afraid of getting too involved in a computer project because he won't allow it. Since I work late and he doesn't go to sleep until around 9-10pm I don't have much time until I go to bed myself. Here it is, I am going to try to post a picture...

It snowed here in Louisville last Sunday night. It was pretty and we got about an inch or so at the house. I worked all of the next day so I didn't get Isaac out in the snow. Technically, his first snow was last winter, but his first snow that he could get out in was 1/18/09. I called BabiesRUs by my work on Monday and asked if they had any baby sleds. They had one blue one left. Guess what? They held it for me and I picked it up on the way home. I took Isaac out the next morning and the snow was almost gone. But I had to get my little man out there. It was hard pulling him and getting good pics but I tried. He loved going for a ride in his sled. It was a little bumpy because he wasn't on much snow, but he enjoyed it. I hope this worked. I got to get to bed.

My baby boy is sleeping again!!

I am probably going to regret writing this. He will probably keep me up all night tonight. Isaac was having a lot of different issues that was causing his sleeping habits to change. It started first with teething, then a cold, then sitting up, pulling up, and finally what was just discovered reflux. That was the worst. After a LOT of trial and error on trying different things, we got it. Mainly, we make sure he gets his bottle about 1 hour before bed instead of right before, he started taking zantac daily and we took his night light out of his room. These things have made Mommy much happier. There were so many nights that I would only get three hours of sleep, at intervals. Then get up to go to work for twelve hours.
So we are getting set for a birthday party. The Elmo cake(s) have already been ordered. I will have to learn how to post pics. I have two weeks. I can't believe my little man will be one year old in two weeks. Time flies doesn't it?

My very first Blog post!!

First off and most importantly a HUGE thanks to my dear friend Leslie for designing this AWESOME blog for me. As much as I would love to take credit for it, I can't. Doesn't she do an awesome job!!! Check out her blog, My girls.
Here is a great topic to start my blog off with. The emergency room. This is where I spent most of my day yesterday. I woke up yesterday vomiting so hard, like I never have before. I had right shoulder blade pain and right upper quadrant pain so I thought it may be my gall bladder. I had red spots all over my face (still do) from blood vessels breaking because of how hard I was throwing up. So anyway, my Mom took me the the ER and Chris stayed at home with Isaac. Turns out it is just a bug. I am so thankful that it wasn't my gall bladder. Isaac's first birthday is in a couple of weeks and I would hate to be recovering from surgery.
We are doing Isaac's birthday with Elmo. He LOVES him!! We aren't having a big party but I still have to have a theme. I can't wait to see his eyes. We got him a tickle me Elmo extreme and he heard Elmo laughing the other day in the kitchen when I was showing Elmo to my Mom. Isaac was trying so hard to see what we were doing because he heard Elmo's laugh. It was sweet. As I sit here typing I look over at my little man and thank God for giving him to us. He is the most precious thing. I do this daily you know. He is a gift from him, that is for sure.

Isaac says, Happy Birthday today Aunt Robynn!!!
